Volvo India introduced its cheapest electric SUV, the EX30, at an introductory price of ₹39.99 lakh to first adopters. The Swedish car manufacturer is applying this special price only to customers who book in advance before October 19, 2025, because after that, the price will increase to ₹41 lakh. This planned introduction makes the EX30 the most affordable luxury electric car in the fast-growing premium EV market in India.

Limited-time pricing will introduce a sense of urgency to early adopters

NDTV Auto reports that Volvo has introduced the EX30 electric SUV in the Indian market with an introductory price of Rs 41 lakh (ex-showroom vehicle). This has made the car the cheapest brand in the country among the vehicles sold under the name. To make the package even juicier around the season, the brand is also giving the SUV for  Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom) to those who pre-reserve the car before 19 October 2025.

Autocar India suggests that the introductory volume of the Volvo EX30 at Rs 39.99 lakh is a reasonably priced EV of entry-level luxury nature, albeit in competition with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, BYD Sealion 7, BMW iX1, Kia EV6, and the Mini Countryman Electric. The new Volvo EV will become the most affordable entry-level luxury EV even after it starts selling at higher prices, when the EX30 is priced above Rs 41 lakh.

The deliveries of the EX30, which is locally assembled at the Volvo plant in Hosakote, Bengaluru, will start in the first week of November. The Volvo EX30 will be competing with other companies like Mercedes-Benz EQA, Hyundai Ioniq 5, BYD Sealion 7, and BMW iX1 in the Indian market.

Stunning range and performance specification aim at high-end consumers

According to the SEA platform by Geely, the Volvo EX30 has a battery pack of 69 kWh customized to the Indian market. It offers 480km (WLTP cycle) range per charge. Nevertheless, the international market has three battery pack alternatives. In India, it comes with one motor setup with a 272 hp and 343 Nm top speed.

The SUV is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds with this output, and it has a maximum speed of 180 km/h. The EX30 is supplied with a Swedish brand 11kW wallbox charger (0-100 percent SOC required 7 hours claimed) and an 8-year/1.6km battery warranty. The small EV is also offered with a 3-year warranty, 3-year Volvo Service Packages, 3 years roadside assistance, and a 5-year subscription to the digital services that the company refers to as  ‘Connect Plus’.

Sophisticated safety systems such as Level 2 ADAS are available

The EX30 safety package is composed of the Level 2 ADAS, featuring autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross traffic alert, 7 airbags, an optional camera with 360 features, and a blind spot monitor. Standard interior features are a 12.3-inch touch infotainment system with built-in Google, a new 3-spoke steering wheel, Nordico seats, a 1040W and 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

The EX30 is similar to its siblings in its visual appearance, which means that the vehicle is designed in line with the Volvo design language. It also introduces a sophisticated appearance characterized by the existence of a closed-off grill, thin-ён LED headlights, Hammers of Thor daylight running lights, pixelated rear lights, and aerodynamic electric-car-specific wheels. The charging port of the vehicle is placed on the rear left quarter panel.

The Market introduction of the Volvo EX30 can be discussed as an effective initiative aimed at seizing a promising luxury EV Indian market with attractive prices and a complete set of features. There is a sense of urgency, provided by the limited-time introduction offer, and cost effectiveness because of local assembly. Combining an impressive range, enhanced safety, and high-end features, the EX30 will be an attractive point of entry into Indian luxury electric mobility, with Swedish engineering quality.
