Oracle Corporation is in the later stages of signing a multi-year cloud computing contract with Meta Platforms, which may take up to two billion dollars, making it one of the largest AI infrastructure deals in the history of technology. The possible alliance would put Oracle as one of the key providers of computing capabilities to train and execute the artificial intelligence model at Meta, as competitiveness increases between large technology corporations around AI infrastructure.

Megaproject infrastructure transaction spheres into view

According to Lapaas Voice, Oracle Corp. entered into active negotiations with Meta Platforms Inc. on a multi-year contract of cloud computing estimated at approximately 20 billion dollars and announced on September 19, 2025. This possible acquisition would have Oracle providing Meta with significant computing resources to train and implement AI models, pointing to the fact that Oracle has become a significant presence in the market of AI infrastructure.

The activity between Oracle and Meta is to increase the availability of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to the artificial workloads of Meta. The Oracle and Meta agreement would allow Oracle to supply Meta with the high-performance computing capacity in the form of Nvidia GPUs to create AI models and deploy them. The amount 20 billion is an approximation of a multiple-year agreement, which may grow depending on the changing requirements; the conditions are also subject to change.

The momentum in the cloud by Oracle gains momentum

Meta is a current Oracle customer, but this transaction will greatly increase the scale of the rentals and computing power of the GPUs. The stock of Oracle jumped 4.4 per cent on the news, indicating optimism among investors on the momentum by the company in AI cloud. This is in the wake of the 4.5 gigawatts of data center capacity Oracle had used recently in an agreement with OpenAI worth $300 billion over a period of five years.

The suggested contract is estimated to be at 20 billion dollars and would make Oracle one of the key providers of cloud capacity to Meta to carry out advanced AI workloads, as suggested by MLQ.ai. Assuming it is completed, the deal would take several years to cover and extend the access of Meta to the compute infrastructure greatly. The OCI revenue contributed by Oracle increased by 52 percent annually in Q3 2025, and the volume of the GPUs by 336 percent, achieved because of the demand for AI by Oracle clients such as OpenAI and Meta.

Both strategic implications of the companies

Potential partnering also emphasizes the accelerating arms race in AI. To complete this testing of custom AI chips, Meta requires huge amounts of compute such as Llama, and it has collaborated with AWS, Google, and Microsoft. The acquisition represents an example of the AI infrastructure scramble, with Oracle being awarded multi-billion-dollar deals in a larger trend of aggressive intentions on the buy power.

Oracle provides hybrid cloud configurations which are enabled by its deal with Amazon, Alphabet, and Microsoft and it becomes a versatile AI vendor. The increasing demand in training AI models and work with data has escalated the competition in the search of credible large scale computing in the U.S. among the technology industry. This deal would enhance the role of Oracle as an infrastructure vendor of the high-profile AI applications.

The Oracle-Meta deal is an essential breakthrough in the AI infrastructure space, which can change the competitive environment of the cloud computing services. Provided this deal reaches closure, it would make Oracle one of the secular AI infrastructure vendors and would grant Meta more resources to build AI models of the next generation. Significant investments to be competitive in the upper world of artificial intelligence is reflected in the deal and the raised apprehensions about the concentration of the market among key computer resources.
