Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have verified that there is a multistate outbreak of Salmonella infection connected with the Metabolic Meals home delivery goods that have impacted at least 16 individuals in 10 states, with seven hospitalizations reported, and the consumer is therefore strongly encouraged to check their fridges and dispose of infected meals.

In more than sixteen cases validated in several states

According to Infectious Disease Advisor, a Salmonella outbreak linked to home-delivery products of Metabolic Meals has caused illness in at least 16 people in 10 different states, with another seven hospitalized, as confirmed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Metabolic Meals manufactured and delivered the affected meals between the weeks of July 28-29. The CDC advises customers to look in the refrigerators and the freezers to locate the products and avoid consuming them.

The CDC has found incidences of Salmonella in California, Missouri, Georgia, Minnesota, Texas, Arkansas, Illinois, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, and Washington state. The agency indicated too that the actual counts of the diseases are likely to be on the high side of the recorded ones because three to four weeks are generally needed to verify whether a given ill individual belongs to an outbreak.

Four meal products distinguished

According to the CDC, the following foods are attributed to the outbreak: Four Cheese Tortellini with Pesto Sauce and Grilled Chicken (Lot Code 25199, Best By 08/07/2025), Low Carb Chicken Teriyaki and Vegetables (Lot Code 25202, Best By 08/05/2025), Sliced Top Sirloin with Roasted Peanut Sauce and Summer Vegetables (Lot Code 25203, Best By

Other lot codes that were affected are 25199, 25202, 25203, 25204, and 25205. CDC recommends that all persons who have any such products dispose of them or call the company to provide guidelines. The ill individuals in this outbreak complained about consuming ready-to-eat home delivery meals prepared by Metabolic Meals. Investigators are trying to identify a certain contamination source.

The company cooperates with health officials

According to the statement the CDC gave, “Metabolic Meals is working with investigators and has contacted customers directly who bought the type of meals mentioned above to inform them of the outbreak. Twelve meals of products of the category Metabolic Meals must not be eaten until the investigation is completed. Go to your refrigerator and freezer to find these products and dispose of them or return them to the company.

Salmonella infection may present itself in people as vomiting, diarrhea (with or without blood), cramping, and fever. The majority of individuals who come into contact with Salmonella get diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps. The symptoms begin between 6 hours and 6 days after consuming the bacteria. The majority of the population recover without any medication after 4-7 days.

Severe symptoms have to be addressed

There are people, in particular children below 5 years of age, adults above 65, and immunocompromised persons who might have deeper illness cases leading to medical care or hospitalization. Contact your healthcare provider in case you experience any of these dangerous symptoms of Salmonella: diarrhea and fever that exceed 102ยฐF, diarrhea lasting longer than 3 days that is not improving, bloody diarrhea, nausea and vomiting so severe that you can no longer keep liquids in, and danger of dehydration. The official page of the outbreak mentioned by the CDC states the investigation is in progress, and no recall has been issued yet.

The given outbreak of Salmonella illustrates how critical food safety can be in the area of home delivery meals and how essential it is that proper control over their quality is implemented. Consumers must be cautious with regard to inspecting the product lot codes, product expiration dates, and even as health officials continue to investigate the source of contamination to prevent additional cases of illness.
